The technological advance of our solution is builds on the following key unique points:


Multiple location technologies

By supporting a mix of different location technologies, our solutions differentiates from GPS only solutions mostly used in vehicle tracking allowing also applications where low power consumption is key or where the object to be located is not in line of site of a satellite. We have integrated support of GSM network location, GPS, assisted GPS (interworking of cell-id and GPS to speed up fixing) as well as security specific methods such as radio beacons and LORAN-C. Additional location services can be added with dedicated adapters in a very short time.


100% web based design

Our user wants to be ready to run without installing software on their PCs/Servers. In security sensitive areas this is a very hard requirement since software qualification and CIO approval would slow down the time to service massively. In this way the service is reachable not only in the office but in every location with a web access (fixed or mobile) and allows additional user flexibility.


User hierarchies

In a business environment, different users can take different roles depending on the existing business processes. By defining user hierarchies the user can limit access rights to specific functions but also allowing for sub-account oriented charging, as required in large enterprises.


Multi-tenancy

The software is designed to support different customers and users from the same data center. This improves the scalability of the system and minimizes the starting cost per project. A security concept ensures that each user only get access to his data.


Multiple device technologies

We work with different device suppliers who integrates GPS and GSM technology, but also use specific sensors for specialized applications. Sensor examples are motion / standstill sensors and microphones. An actor example is the high volume beeper that can be activated remotely in an alarm situation. Other type of sensors such as temperature, environmental control, as well as actors can be easily integrated depending on the solution requested.


Object groups

The group modeling of devices under supervision allows additional supervision control. E.g. a truck carrying several pallets, each of which is supervised separately, allows alarming if the truck driver is hijacked and the load is taken away since the pallets would take a different path than the truck. In a consumer application alarms can be raised if people (friends, parents and children) enter or leave the same area.


Openness to business integration

Several adapters and API enable an effective integration into an enterprise IT even without having to install the software into their data center. This is critical since the business process improvements are best achieved with a business integration without manual steps.


Use of open-source middleware

By relying on open source software we ensure a low cost operation with a worldwide support by the user community. We make use of Apache 2, J2SE SDK 1.4, MySQL 4.1, Tomcat 5.0.
